104日目 インド・プシュカル / Day 104, India, Pushkar

引率の山田です。
現在、ラジャスターン州のプシュカルという街にいます。
This is YAMADA.
I am in Pushkar of Rajasthan state now.

プシュカルは、ヒンドゥー教の聖地とされ街には400もの寺院があるそうです。
ベジタリアンであるヒンドゥー教の信者が多いため、肉を食べられるレストランがありません。
どこでタンパク質を接種しているのでしょうか・・・
Pushkar is Hindu mecca, and there are about 400 hindu temples.
We can not eat any meat at any restaurants in this town.
Because people who live in Pushkar are almost vegetarian.
I am wondering how possible that they take proteins……

街の中心にはプシュカル湖という湖があります。
ここプシュカルにあるブラーフマー寺院のご本尊、天地創造神ブラーフマーが手にしていた蓮華が
地上に落ち、そこに水が沸き出してきたと伝えられる聖なる湖です。
プシュカル湖には、52ものガートがあり、巡礼者たちが沐浴をしています。
Pushkar lake is in a central location of the town. It is sacred lake.
Because the lotus which Brahmā had in his hand had fallen down on the ground.
Then, the water spring had welled from there.
There are 52 ghats around lake, the worshiper make ablutions.

その湖の北側にメイン通りがあります。
メイン通りはバザールになっており、多くのお店やレストランがあります。
数年前までは巡礼に来る信者がほとんどだったプシュカルですが、現在は買い物を目的とした観光客が
多く来るようになっているようです。
On the north side of lake, there is a main street with many little stores.
A few years ago, many worshiper had visited. But now, the visitors are many more than them.

街自体も小さいため、30分も歩けばバザールの端から端に辿り着くことができます。
毎日のようにひたすら往復している私に、
「コリア！ジャパン！タイワン！」
と、とりあえずどれか当たるだろうと客引きのため叫ぶように声をかけてきます。
お店の人たちも観光地の人という感じになっているようです。
確かに欧米人や日本人、インド国内からも観光客が多く来ているようです。
This town is quite small, so I can walk from end to end of the main street.
I make walk a round trip, so the shopman call me Asian country name,
“Korea !! Japan !! Taiwan !!”
It seems that there are many western and asian visitors.

プシュカルの街に来て、私が一番驚いたことは、
人と同じように動物たちが街中を、誰に連れられることなく歩いていることです。
I was surprised most in Pushkar, animals are walking the same way as human does.

犬／dog


豚／pig


ヤギ／goat

らくだや馬は、観光用にいるようです。
Camels and horses are sightseeing.

そのほかにもリスや猿などもおり、プシュカルに来てから多くの種類の動物たちを見る機会がありました。
Besides there are squirrels and monkeys etc…
I had many chances to see many kinds of animals in this place.

ホテルの部屋から牛たちが自由に行き来している姿に癒されています。
I feel comforted by seeing that cows come and go freely.

コルカタの街で四六時中争うように聞いていたクラクションの音も少なく、
鳥のさえずりや動物の鳴き声が聞こえてくることがあります。
The klaxon sounds which I heard all the time in my staying Kolkata are minor in Pushkar.
I have had chances to hear some birds chirping and animals calls.

モンスーンで連日雨が降っていたコルカタと
カラッとした気候の中、強い日差しがさして乾いた砂が飛んでくるプシュカル。
In Kolkata, it was raining by monsoon every day.
In Pushkar, strong sunlight is pointing, dry sand comes flying by arid zone.

同じ国の中、まったく違う特色の街。
コルカタの街でインド人に「どのくらいインドにいるんだ？」と聞かれ、
「３週間」と答えた私に対して、「足りない！！」とはっきり言われたことも思い出しました。
言われなくても分かってはいたけど、今、確かに。と実感しています。
There are different flavor include in same country.
I remember, one day I was asked from a Indian
” How long will you stay in India ? ”
I answered
” 3 weeks ”
He said me ” too short !! ” crisply.

インドの滞在時間は、残り約一週間。
この期間でどれだけのことを吸収できるのだろうか。
There is only a week for stay in India.
I should assimilate many things while I stay in this country.

明日からまた連日移動してバラナシへと向かい、ガンガーを目の当たりにします。
I will moved to Varanasi, and I will see Gaṅgā firsthand.
